CSR and the investment market: coming together
We recently combined with Smithfield, the leading financial communications consultancy, in a survey of investment analysts working in 27 institutions. The audience was asked to consider whether CSR policies were currently important to investment decisions, how this position could change in the medium term and which specific areas of policy were and would be influential.
The highlights of this survey are:
* CSR policies are increasingly important but need to be alighted to the investment case
* Employee relations, environmental sustainability and supply chain management are the key areas of development for this audience
* Clear request for CSR to move on from risk-management to operational development and to align with corporate governance
Following on from this research, we will be holding our first event in the CSR space on Wednesday 19 September at Bloomberg, London, entitled ‘Valuing CSR’, where we will be discussing, among other aspects of CSR, the benefits of CSR strategies and policies to a company’s bottom line. The day will include company presentations from corporates such as SAP and Cisco, as well as a panel discussion moderated by Barbara Evans, Senior ESG Analyst at Bloomberg, including Steve Waygood and Dr Raj Thermotheram.
